New Haven Alumnae Chapter 60th Anniversary Celebration

On October 3, 1959, the New Haven Alumnae Chapter was chartered by twenty-three members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, who lived in the New Haven and Waterbury communities. They were inspired by the rich legacy of the
visionary Founders, decided to further Delta’s cause in the Greater New Haven and
surrounding areas.

The chapter has officially kicked off the 60th anniversary celebration of our accomplishments over the past six decades!

The New Haven Alumnae Chapter organizes its many public service initiatives for youth and adults, under the Five Point Programmatic Thrust of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Some of the initiatives include: Habitat for Humanity, Delta Academy & Gems, Conversations that Matter, Health Symposium & Free Market, recognition programs for youth who have excelled academically, and scholarship awards to deserving, college bound high school seniors in excess of $400,000 in the past 60 years.

In 2006, the chapter partnered with Community Foundation of Greater New Haven and established an endowment scholarship fund and ensuring our scholarship legacy to graduating high school students in the New Haven area.  Support our “SixtyScholarship Legacy” by making a $60 recurring or one-time tax deductible contribution to our fund online at  CFGNH-NHAC Fund
